The Olsen twins have been making successful acting turns since 1987, not even a year after their birth, which is when they found their starring roles as Michelle, on ABC’s “Full House”. The producers of the show didn’t initially want the twins displayed as twins in the credits, and simply decided to credit them as Mary Kate Ashley Olsen. They also found that Ashley was designated for the more serious acting scenes, while Mary Kate was designated for the more comedic ones. Merchandising became a financially beneficial option as their popularity continued to rise over the show’s tenure, which ended in 1995. “Full House” was not the end for the Olsen twins, but proved to provide a strong fan base for the girls. Near the end of their run on “Full House”, the girls made some more independent moves and started to record children’s song albums, as well as movies of their own.
