Free at last, free at last – Brit and K-Fed are free at last.
Thursday, November 09, 2006
Well folks, Britney has finally seen the light, after 2 years and 2 kids, and kicked K-Fed (also being referred to as Fed-EX) to the curb. She filed for divorce in the evening of Monday November 6th, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Spears wed Federline in the fall of 2004.
Spears, 24, and Federline, 28, have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son, Jayden James, who was born Sept. 12. Spears is seeking custody of both children, and guess what, Kevin has countered with requesting sole custody of the kids and allowing her visitation rights. C’mon Kev, get a grip, you can’t even take care of yourself, then again neither can she, but at least she has the bucks. (ta-ching, ta-ching).
“Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to do what he feels is necessary to protect and safeguard the children and will not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuit of those goals,” said Michael Sands, spokesman for Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan. Oh puuuleeeese, give me a break.
Kevin is requesting spousal support, of course he has to, he made what, 10 bucks off of his latest album, don’t go spending it all in one place now. He says the couple’s community assets are “uncertain,” though Spears said in her divorce papers there were none to speak of, suggesting the two had a prenuptial agreement in place. And she also requested that each party pay for their own attorney fees. This just in, this is what Brit and K-Fed have decided, gifts that cost more than $10,000 will be returned to the person who bought them. Britney will pay Kevin $30,000 a month for half the length of the marriage, meaning Kevin can remain a professional freeloader well into ‘07.
Let’s walk down memory lane, shall we? These 2 crazy kids were wed in the fall of 2004. They had a ceremony in September, but court papers state the couple were officially married Oct. 6.
The magazines could not get enough of the trash that these 2 flung, and their self-filmed reality TV show, “Britney & Kevin: Chaotic.”, put us in the middle of things.
Although this was a first marriage for Kevin, he was still dating his then pregnan girlfriend Shar Jackson when he met Britney (and had $$$ signs in his eyes). Jackson gave birth to Kevin’s child just months before Brit and K-Fed married.
It was the second wedding in a year for Spears, whose 55-hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment.
Born in Kentwood, La., in 1981, Spears got her first taste of fame at age 11 when she joined the “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” TV show. Her fellow Mouseketeers included future superstars Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
Five years after leaving the show, Spears released her debut album, “Baby One More Time” and skyrocketed to fame.
Federline appeared in the 2004 movie “You Got Served” and performed as a backup dancer for Timberlake, Pink and Michael Jackson. He released his debut CD, “Playing With Fire,” on Oct. 31.
In an interview with The Associated Press two weeks ago, he praised Spears as a positive force in his life.
“Her influence on me has been really big,” he said. “She’s a strong woman and she knows what she wants out of life and that helps build a strong man. I look up to you baby.” What a load of crock, you a stong man?
Can’t wait to see the dirt that will be flung from these 2 in the coming weeks and months, I’m sure it will be juicy.
