Britney Spears Having A Blast On Sitcom Shoot
Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Britney Spears is having a blast on the small screen. The troubled pop star says she had a terrific time working on the set of the CBS comedy, “How I Met Your Mother.”
The 26-year-old “Toxic” singer has been given a guest spot on the sitcom as a dorky receptionist at a clinic named Abby, which will air March 24.
Spears tells Entertainment Tonight in a statement, “Working at How I Met Your Mother has been so terrific. Everyone, including the cast, the crew and the producers, has been wonderful and Abby is such a fun girl to play. I’m having a blast!”
The mother of two also impressed the show’s casts with her “good sense of comedy.”
The main star, Josh Radnor, tells People magazine: “She’s been great to work with.”
“It pains me to report that on the first day of the shoot, Britney knew her lines better than I knew mine.”
Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Barney Stinson on the show, says he was surprised with the singer. He says, “She has a good sense of comedy, and has interesting choices. It wasn’t like she has just been told to stand up there and deliver those lines. I was really surprised by that. She’s really funny!”
The former “Doogie Howser, M.D.” star also recalls the time he had been denied from the set because of the extra security enforced while Spears was on the set.
He narrates to eonline.com, “We’re required to wear wristbands all day. It keeps meddling blogger friends from just strolling on to set to snap camera phone pics. They have different wristband every day, and it’s like the ultimate after-party. I wasn’t given a wristband, because I’m on the show, but then they swapped out security people and they wouldn’t let me on the stage because I didn’t have the proper wristband.”
