Catherine Zeta-Jones Revealing Interview
It is difficult to believe that the talented, lovely Catherine Zeta-Jones has ever felt one moment of insecurity, but apparently she has, as she revealed in the interview for the July issue of In Style magazine, on newsstands this Friday.
The 37-year old actress from Wales, Catherine Zeta-Jones has been on center stage since 1984, when she appeared in 42nd Street in London’s West End Theater. Subsequently, some of her film credits included the Mask of Zorro, Traffic, and Ocean’s twelve with George Clooney. The highlight of her acting career, however, was winning the Oscar in 2003 for best supporting actress in the smash hit Chicago. Upon receiving the award, she proved to us all that blondes don’t always have more fun.
Catherine Zeta-Jones’ fans adore her and are certainly not aware of any self-doubts she may have; she always appears extremely confident on Hollywood’s red carpet. Married to the famous actor Michael Douglas, they have two children, 6-year old Dylan and 4-year old Carys. Although the family can well afford their luxurious lifestyle, with several residences, one in Manhattan, one in Majorca, Spain, and a farm in Quebec, Canada, they remain at home in Bermuda for most of the year.
The children are being raised in a stable environment, where good manners and modest behavior are encouraged. They attend a private school, wear British uniforms, and return each year to Wales, so their heritage is not forgotten. Zeta-Jones is extremely proud of them, telling us that they can now sing Jingle Bells in Welsh. Although her successful career and natural beauty have brought her wealth and fame, gone are the days of rushing around the world to read scripts, meet producers, and contract films. From music and dancing to cooking and magic, her versatility as an actress is readily apparent. Catherine will star as a chef who takes on the guardianship of a nine-year old niece in No Reservations, scheduled to open July 27 of this year. Death Defying Acts, a story of Harry Houdini, is also on her acting agenda.
Catherine Zeta-Jones may have some insecurity, but none that we can see. One thing is certain; she is selective about the roles she plays, and secure in her priorities - marriage and motherhood are first and foremost.
