Danica Patrick Racing Beauty

Open wheeled racing has become wide open again with fans flocking to the sport. After a few consecutive years of waning ticket sales and empty seats, Danica Patrick has brought old fans back into the folds, while new fans are racing to the track. The 89th Indianapolis 500 enjoyed a sell out crowd in excess of 300,000 fans who rarely sat down due to the excitement this hot young racing babe brought to the track!

Danica Patrick did not disappoint either, she charmed the media, scared the boys, and thrilled the fans. Some highlights include:

- Only the fourth woman to race at Indy
- Highest qualifying woman in Indy Racing League history; 4th!
- Posted the fasted practice speed at Indy for 2005; 229.880 MPH!
- Only woman to EVER lead at Indy (She went on to lead a total of 19 laps)
- Highest Finish for a Woman: 4th Place (if not for fuel conservation in order to finish the race, she could have held on to win!)
