Elizabeth Hurley Married
The tiny town of Winchcombe, England is nestled a mere 125 miles outside of London. Winchcombe is the perfect picture of the small English town, quiet, reserved, and with a landscape marked by ancient castles. On Saturday, it was buzzing with excitement as journalists and photographers poured into the small town to celebrate the marriage of Elizabeth Hurley.
Gloucestershire County Council confirmed that Elizabeth Hurley married Indian businessman Arun Nayar in a private civil ceremony on Friday. The couple were receiving guests at Sudeley castle on Saturday. Saturday’s celebration was part of a blessing ceremony and celebration. As word got out, it was not just the paparazzi that were on the hunt; the locals were looking for some celebrity action of their own. Said one local, “Obviously, people are out celebrity spotting — I don’t think they’ll see any but they are out at the thought — and it’s just a lot of excitement for the small town of Winchcombe”. Local store owners put signs in their windows giving Hurley and Nayar their blessings for a long and happy marriage.
Spotted by the locals were Elton John, Kate Moss, and Hugh Grant. It is reported that Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar signed a lucrative contract with Hello magazine, giving them exclusive rights to pictures of the blessing ceremony. Guards patrolled the grounds of Sudeley castle. Large tents were put up in an effort to block the view of photographers.
Elizabeth Hurley is the ex wife of Hugh Grant. The actress has appeared in the Austin Powers films and the film Bedazzled. She is the international face model for Estee Lauder cosmetics.
Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar are flying to India later this week. In India they will hold marriage celebrations in the regions of Mumbai and Rajasthan.
