Lucky Wedding Day for Eva Longoria
Saturday, 7/7/07, was considered the luckiest day this century. Many played the lottery while many couples gambled in a different way, making the luckiest day their wedding day.
Such was the case for groom and NBA star Tony Parker, 25, and his female celebrity bride, Eva Longoria, 32. The celebrity couple apparently thought this was their lucky day too; the couple wed in a grand ceremony held at the Church of Saint Germain l’Auxerrois, which is famous for its royal history.
The day before, Friday, the Desperate Housewives star, Longoria and NBA champion, Parker became officially man and wife in a small civil service performed by the mayor of Paris. However stage two in a weekend of wedding extravaganza was reserved for a formal religious ceremony, an elaborate reception, a slew of celebrity guests and of course some serious bling.
Eva Longoria wore a silk woolen couture mermaid gown with a deep scoop back, a long train and silver metallic embroidery, created by Angel Sanchez according to a spokesperson. Tony Parker was also decked out in a suit created by De Fursac, a French men’s clothing company which Parker models for.
On their fingers were matching 18k white gold rings with French inscription along the inside of the bands. Only one difference existed between the bride’s ring and the groom’s ring, 107 diamonds. Indeed, Longoria band was decorated with two rows of 40 brilliant cut diamonds each and 27 square-cut diamonds separating the two. The band set was made by Piaget Possession. Additionally, all women attending the ceremony were given a gift of a 18k yellow gold bracelet with a “lucky” mother of pearl charm in the shape of a clover.
The guest list included entertainers from all walks of celebrities, media, athletes, actors, and musicians. Of course Eva Longoria had the support of her Desperate Housewives cast and co-stars Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, and Nicolette Sheridan were there, sporting some very designer gowns. Sheryl Crow, Jessica Alba, the San Antonio Spurs coach Greg Popovich, Ryan Seacrest and soccer champion Thierry Henry were just a few of over 200 people who watched Eva Longoria and Tony Parker exchange their wedding vows.
