Heidi Montag’s Stepbrother Dies In Freak Accident

Steamboat Springs, CO (CNS) - Heidi Montag, star of “The Hills” lost her stepbrother in a freak accident when he slipped off the top of a hotel while trying to remove snow. Montag’s stepbrother, 24-year-old Eric O’Hara, died February 28th when he fell off the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel.

Montag, 21, released a statement through her rep saying “Losing my brother, at an early age, is such a tragedy. I just loved him more than anything,” she said.

O’Hara was a veteran of several combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, having spent 15 months in Iraq.

O’Hara’s family said Eric felt he needed to defend his country.

Heidi’s father, Bill Montag, is married to O’Hara’s mother Terri. Also surviving are Eric’s father, two sisters, another stepsister, a grandmother and other relatives.
