Kate Winslet Teaming Up Again With Leonardo DiCaprio
The two stars of the Titanic are hoping to make magic together for the second time. The two are set to co-star in the film, Revolutionary Road.
The film will be Directed by Kate Winslet’s husband, British filmmaker Sam Mendes, who won an Oscar in 1999 for his direction of the film, American Beauty (about a dysfunctional family).
A Dreamworks film, Revolutionary Road is about a disillusioned family in post war America. The suburban family is caught between their love of art, music, and the finer things of life; and the everyday drudgery of survival.
The film is based on the 1961 novel, Revolutionary Road, written by Richard Yates. The novel is considered a masterpiece and made Time magazines list of the top 100 novels of all time.
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio worked together for the first time on Titanic. Their portrayal of star crossed lovers caught the imagination of millions. Titanic, based on the story of the ill fated ship that sunk in 1912, made Kate Winslet and Leonardo DeCaprio household names. The film grossed over $1.8 billion in revenue, thus making it the highest grossing movie of all time.
Both have gone on to successful careers on their own. Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for three Oscars; including one for this year’s thriller, Blood Diamond. Kate Winslet has been nominated for five Oscars, including one for last years, Little Children.
Though the two have had very successful film careers, they have not come close to the success they earned working together on Titanic. Hopefully, the two still have magic together.
