Lover Of Britney Spears’ Photog Boyfriend Speaks Up
The girlfriend of Britney Spears‘ lover is speaking up. The woman, who was behind the reported rift between the pop star and Adnan Ghalib, insists she didn’t steal him from her.
Waitress Amanda Pagel says she met Ghalib when a mutual friend introduced them in January. They grew closer together and the former paparazzo frequently visited her at her home. Their meetings never went out in public because Ghalib apparently didn’t want to “betray” Spears.
She tells Look magazine, “He kept saying: As soon as she’s better and back on her own two feet doing her own thing, we can go public.”
Pagel also reveals that Ghalib only “pities” the “Toxic” singer. She says, “He told me he ‘pitied’ her and felt really sorry for her. She’d been through a lot and he used to say he was the only one that she trusted.”
Spears eventually found out about the pair’s affair when she had read text messages from the waitress to Ghalib’s iPhone. She reportedly threw the phone in the pool during her tirade.
Pagel continues, “I felt sick. I knew the texts were ones we’d sent to each other. I used to send him texts saying ‘I miss your kiss’ and coupley stuff like that but when I found out that Britney had seen them. I freaked out and called him immediately.”
She says their relationship has cooled down when pictures of them surfaced on the Internet. “I kept asking him why I had to wait for it to blow over - people were going to think of me as the girl who stole Britney’s boyfriend, and that wasn’t the case.”
“I know he’ll go mad when he reads this, but I want people to know I didn’t steal Britney’s boyfriend.”
And her words for the pop star? Pagel advises, “I’d tell Britney to be careful who she trusts. I don’t believe he wasn’t sleeping with Britney. I just hope she doesn’t get hurt like I did.”
