Mary-Kate Olsen In Hospital
Mary-Kate Olsen, half of the Olsen twins who grew up on a television sit-com has been hospitalized with a kidney infection on November 19. Mary-Kate recently started appearing in the Showtime television program Weeds and will have to watch the season finale from a hospital bed. She plays the character Silas, a religious, pot-dealing girlfriend of Tara.
The 21-year-old actress’s prognosis is good and she should be released within the next day or two. Mary-Kate said she is in pretty good health, which is a change from her 2004 visit to Utah’s Cirque Lodge for rehab due to an eating disorder. At the time however, it was referred to as seeking professional help for a health-related issue, according to E! Online. The Cirque Lodge is where Lindsay Lohan recently sought help with her issues.
Mary-Kate with twin Ashley Olsen earned $40 million in 2006 topping Forbes’ list of Hollywood’s top underage earners.
Mary-Kate told EW.com in September: “Mentally, physically, I feel pretty on top of my game right now. Talk to me next week, I don’t know. Today, I feel good.”
She also said she would love to be swimming in the ocean in Malibu.
“But that is asking for a bikini shot,” she said. “That’s inviting something that I don’t want to happen. I don’t need to be on a ‘Who’s Skinny, Who’s Fat or Who’s Looking Healthy lists.”
The twins celebrated their 21st birthday in a typical non-Hollywood style in June by hosting an intimate dinner party for a few friends and family members at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.
At 21 years of age, it is hard to believe that the girls played the child Michelle on the syndicated comedy Full House from 1987-1995. Although they are fraternal twins, they look very much like identical twins. Ashley is a few minutes older and slightly taller than Mary-Kate.
