Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen Battling Over Child Visitation

Last month, it seemed that all was well between former celebrity couple Denise Richards and ex-husband Charlie Sheen when the 36-year-old actress congratulated and expressed “genuine” happiness for Sheen on his recent engagement with girlfriend Brooke Mueller.

But fast forward weeks later, everything seemed to have turned out sour for the celebrity couple. This is in regards, however, to the co-parenting of their two daughters, Sam and Lola.

On Friday, Charlie Sheen has requested more visitation rights of his two girls. This was according to the filed legal documents in an LA court. When asked about the filing, the 41 year old actor said, “What I am doing is pursuing a relationship with my daughters that is unpolluted.” With this in mind, the star of Two and a Half Men made provisions which include amending Denise Richards’ authority in selecting the nannies to go with their children, Sam and Lola, during their visits with dad, Charlie.

In the legal documents, Sheen disputes “It is not necessary, appropriate, or in the best interest of the children that Richards selects child care providers for my custodial periods.” He also informs the court that he and fiancée Brook Mueller have a well-built relationship with the two girls and that they will “provide them with a structured and safe environment. Moreover, the actor accused Richards of making “unnecessary phone calls to me and my home” and consequently asks for the court to prohibit calls between him and his former wife with the exception of emergency situations.

In March 2005 Denise Richards filed for divorce from then husband Charlie Sheen. The news came as a shock since Richards was 6 months pregnant at that time. On November 2006, their position as a married couple was legally ended by a court. However, the entire divorce process is not yet considered “complete” in view of the fact that custody arrangements and division of assets has still remained an issue up to this date between Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards.
