Spears and Simpson May Join Forces
According to a recent report in the New York Daily News, Britney Spears is talking to Joe Simpson about managing her career. Joe Simpson is otherwise and better known as the overbearing dad and manager of Jessica Simpson and her sister Ashlee Simpson.
Britney recently fired her manager Larry Rudolph. Her father, Jamie Spears, has publicly defended Rudolph. Her father’s support of Rudolph is being seen as a tacit opposition to Spears, leading to a war of words between father and daughter. Note: Britney’s father is James Parnell Spears and is familiarly known as Jamie, hence the name of his youngest daughter and Britney’s little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
“He was doing what her mother, father and team of professionals with over 100 years of experience knew needed to be done. She was out of control,” Jamie said. “Unfortunately, she blames [Rudolph] and her family for where she is at today with her kids and career.”
Britney, upon reading her fathers words, issued her own statement in her defense. Britney’s statement, released in the New York Post, reads, “I am praying for my father. We have never had a good relationship. It’s sad that all the men that have been in my life do not know how to accept a real woman’s love.”
Meanwhile, Star magazine is reporting that Britney is looking to collaborate with booted American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar. Star claims that an unidentified source told them that Britney started watching American Idol while in rehab and became a huge fan of Sanjaya. The source said that Britney thinks that she and Sanjaya, “can make beautiful music together,”
However, Britney’s camp is denying this story. They are accusing Sanjaya of planting this story in the press.
