Teri Hatcher to Become the Face for Badgley Mischka
Teri Hatcher, one of the stars on Desperate Housewives will be the new face for designers Badgley Mischka. The 43-year-old actress bumped into the two designers, Mark Badgley and James Mischka on the crimson carpet at the American Idol finale last May and reminded them of the gown they designed for her when she starred in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in the 1990’s. So, they asked her to be their new celebrity model. Hatcher just happens to be the same size as their fit model, so they didn’t need to look too far.
Most designers break into their new campaigns around September and will choose a recognizable celebrity to represent their brand. Teri Hatcher fills that bill nicely as she presents a wholesome look and is recognizable due to the immense popularity of ‘Desperate Housewives.’
Hatcher is being treated a bit like royalty as the designers brought in two trailers filled with clothes to the photo shoot, which was held at a mansion in Bel Air, Calif., so they could figure out what she would be wearing
In the end, they settled on a few different looks, there will be the sultry Hatcher and the sexy Hatcher wearing a black lame evening gown among others. . Celebrity photographer Ellen Von Unwerth will be shooting the sultry and sexy poses that she is famous for.
The print campaign will debut in September in all the famous designer magazines like Vogue.
Badgley Mischka began in 1988 when the two designers decided to go into the fashion business together rather than compete with each other. Their label quickly acquired loyal fans from New York, Washington D.C. and of course, Hollywood.
