Actress Cameron Diaz is back to work after the recent death of her father Emilio. She has appeared on the red carpet and also sat down with co-star Ashton Kutcher on the “Today” show to discuss their new movie.
While they talked about the movie, “What Happens in Vegas,” Diaz was all smiles. She became somber when host Meredith Vieira brought up her father. Diaz’s dad died at age 58 from post-influenza MRSA pneumonia.

In her first public appearance since Emilio Diaz passed away from pneumonia on April 15, the Hollywood actress says she is coping with the loss.

Actress Cameron Diaz has released a statement about the death of her father. Emilio Diaz died suddenly of pneumonia on Tuesday.
The statement was released by Cameron’s representative Brad Cafarelli. It said, “My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family.”

Actress Cameron Diaz’s father, Emilio Diaz, has died at the age of 58. The actress’s father died Tuesday morning after suffering from the flu which turned into pneumonia.
It was first reported by TMZ.com that Emilio had died. He had a small part in his daughter’s 1998 hit comedy “There’s Something About Mary.”
Cameron, 35, also has a sister, Chimene, 37. The Los Angeles Times reported on Tuesday that filming on Diaz’s current film “My Sister’s Keeper” has been halted.
